About This Course

Occupational health and safety specialists analyze many types of work environments and work procedures. They inspect workplaces for adherence to regulations on safety, health, and the environment, and design programs to prevent disease or injury to workers and damage to the environment. These specialists and technicians frequently communicate with management about the status of health and safety programs and may consult with engineers or physicians. They also write reports, including accident reports, and enter information on Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) recordkeeping forms.
